CARS is actively engaged in projects that address water quantity and water quality management. By building strong partnerships with academics, industry and government we provide the science needed to make water resource management decisions at the local, state, regional and national levels.

CARS is a leader in creating and developing the discipline of ecological engineering, the discipline of ecosystem service study and design.  Dr. Matlock, Executive Director of the University of Arkansas Office of Sustainability, is Past-President of the American Ecological Engineering Society (AEES).  He recently completed a book with Dr. Robert Morgan for John Wiley and Sons Publishers:
