Dylan Stewart is a University of Arkansas graduate who has had the pleasure of living and working in Busan, South Korea for the past three years. During that time, he was offered the opportunity to work directly for a crypto platform, Syscoin.

Regarding his decision to start a career in this burgeoning technological space, he says that crypto at large and Syscoin specifically were his hobbies. He promoted them through his own initiatives because he believes in the philosophies that guide them. These initiatives and active community participation over the years are what got him noticed, so when he was offered a full-time position with the Syscoin Foundation that coincided with his decision to return stateside, he gladly accepted the opportunity.

Syscoin was founded in 2014, predating even Ethereum. “It has evolved a lot over the years since it was founded,” Stewart elaborated, “Syscoin is the ideal Layer 1 blockchain because it combines the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place by taking the best of each, making a few adjustments, and providing the most capable blockchain infrastructure available.”

Syscoin envisions that the future is stronger together, which is why they believe in a modular blockchain that starts by combining the power of Bitcoin and Ethereum running side by side, and will continue to build on their roadmap to the most cutting-edge technology.

The purpose is to provide the infrastructure needed to usher in Web3; in turn bringing prosperity through a protocol that transforms the way we interact with the world. The team builds to redefine the way we experience the blockchain and shares an optimistic view of tomorrow backed by the underlying mathematical logic that makes it all work. With the great power of a decentralized future, comes the responsibility to provide security, functionality, and scale to create a better future where individuals, companies, and even governments can enjoy the benefits of greater efficiency, financial freedom, and equitability.

Regarding the advice from him for students and others who are interested in the blockchain and crypto space, he emphasized how important it is to keep up with the ever increasing knowledge pool of the industry. He recommends focusing on particular sections of interest in order to remain in the loop. He calls the blockchain space a once in a lifetime opportunity and one that is still fledgling. He also says that since the technology and space around it is in early stages, if you can plug yourself in and network with others, you’ll be able to develop a lot of your own ideas and find profitable opportunities. He further mentioned the need for people with both business acumen as well as technical understanding, because they can both understand the enterprise applications of certain technologies and more easily translate them into something the public can digest

Stewart decided to return to Northwest Arkansas after being awarded the Life Works Here initiative, and is the first in the program to be paid out in Bitcoin instead of dollars. He is “bullish”   about Northwest Arkansas and believes it has the potential to become a blockchain hub as its quality of life continues to grow and more talent is attracted to the area. In addition to promoting Syscoin, he intends to contribute to the local community in order to assist  his vision.
