Dr. Lacity is a Distinguished Professor of Information Systems and Director of the Blockchain Center of Excellence in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at The University of Arkansas. Professor Stephen C. Lupien is Director of the University of Wyoming Center for Blockchain & Digital Innovation and lecturer of blockchain and cryptocurrency at the University of Wyoming’s College of Business’ Accounting and Finance Department as well as creator of BeefChain.
The book has a target audience of students and professionals that want to understand the Web 3.0 movement that involves empowering individuals over institutions so the people can have the control and get the benefits of sending value through the internet, and Blockchain is the digital structure behind this purpose. The authors take the reader through a journey where they are introduced to the most basic features of what is Blockchain. By the end of the book, the reader had been exposed to an academic overall of these new technologies including specific information like, size of markets, major players, future of the space from thought-leaders and applications that are being used based on Web 3.0 technology and add value to DeFi, NFTs, supply chains, credentials, and much more.
