Women in IT Panel | Enterprise Blockchains
At the 2021 Women in IT Conference, Dr. Mary Lacity, Guilda Javaheri, and Archana Sristy led a panel discussion on Enterprise Blockchains. The panelists shared and discussed the Golden State Foods journey with Blockchains and Walmart’s journey with Blockchains. They discussed the choice of permissioned vs. public blockchains, examined the greatest challenges to building an ecosystem and identified promising opportunities on the horizon.
Archana Sristy is committed to creating innovative digital solutions to solve business problems at Walmart As Sr. Director of GBS Digital solutions, she is responsible for software engineering and operations functions for Blockchain Platforms team. Her teams leverage cutting-edge technologies like Blockchain for driving Food Safety in our supply chain. Prior to Walmart, Archana held several consulting positions in information technology with major corporations, such as General Motors, Experian, ADP Wilco and others. She graduated from International Institute of Professional Studies, India with a Master’s degree in Computer Science.
Guilda Javaheri is the Chief Technology Officer for Golden State Foods (GSF). She is responsible for setting strategy and overseeing all digital and technology aspects for the enterprise and she is an avid supporter of the GSF Foundation. Previously, Guilda served as Vice President and Director for Xylem Inc. and has traveled to and worked with various European and Asian organizations during her tenure. Guilda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems and Management from London City University in London and a Master of Business Administration in Operations Management and Finance from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She currently resides in Orange County, California.
Dr. Mary C. Lacity is a Walton Professor of Information Systems and Director of the Blockchain Center of Excellence in Sam M. Walton College of Business at The University of Arkansas. She was previously Curators’ Distinguished Professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She has held visiting positions at MIT, the London School of Economics, Washington University, and Oxford University. She is a Certified Outsourcing Professional ®, Industry Advisor for Symphony Ventures, and Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly Executive. Her recent research focuses on improving business services using Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Cognitive Automation (CA), and Blockchain technologies.
