Welcome to the Contemplative Neurophenomenology Lab
We study how mindfulness and other contemplative practices affect the brain, cognition, and emotional well-being. Our work combines EEG and behavioral research to explore the science of self-awareness and control.
EEG & Cognition
We study how brainwave patterns relate to focus, decision-making, and emotional control.
Mindfulness Practices
We examine how different contemplative techniques influence behavior and well-being.
Mentorship & Training
We support students through hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and collaboration.
Our Mission
The Contemplative Neurophenomenology Lab is passionate about exploring how contemplative practices, like mindfulness meditation, shape our cognitive abilities, emotional well-being, and interpersonal experiences. Grounded in clinical psychology and cognitive neuroscience, our research integrates behavioral methods and neurophysiological tools like EEG to investigate how training the mind can lead to meaningful, measurable change. We aim to bridge first-person experience with scientific inquiry, advancing both theory and practice in the science of self-regulation, awareness, and human flourishing.
