These graphs show a clear correlation between household income and the rate at which the applications are rejected. Asian families have the highest average income in the area, explaining somewhat the very low rates at which we’ve been seeing them declined for loans. Such a great percentage of the population is white that they make up a large majority of the applications, but per capita, income and loan approval both very much inform the other. There’s a slight reversal in our two smallest groups, Native Americans and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders, with American Indians having a slightly higher rejection rate despite their higher average income.
