ADVICE FROM STUDENTS TO OTHER STUDENTS
[Midterm Feedback offered anonymously by students in 2007,
halfway through Classical Studies 1003: Greece, University of Arkansas. Professor Daniel B. Levine]
Question 10: “What would you tell a friend who is considering taking this course?”
Student 1: I would tell a friend to only take the course if they like the literature aspect of classical studies.
Student 2: I would tell them to try it. While the material may be difficult, it is very interesting. I have enjoyed taking this class and would definitely express this to others.
Student 3: Take it, but be prepared for lots of reading and homework. The teacher is really smart and fun.
Student 4: Sign up for it immediately before it is too full! Don’t let the 8:30 class time scare you, it’s well worth it.
Student 5: I would absolutely tell my friends to take this course even if they are not history or literature people. I think it can be interesting for anyone. I would also tell them that they needed to take any course that Dr. Levine taught!!
Student 6: It’s lots of work!
Student 7: I would say take it or you will seriously regret it. I tell stories to my friends all the time about this class, and they already wish they were taking it!
