Dr. Ed Clausen
After a long career in bioprocess engineering, Dr. Clausen recently switched his research interests to engineering education, and most particularly the area of enhancing STEM education for K-12 students. Dr. Clausen has two active grants from the Arkansas Department of Education, one focusing on Arkansas middle school math teachers and their ability to effectively engage students in the Common Core program, and another focusing on Arkansas middle school math and science teachers and the Next Generation Science Standards. Dr. Clausen also hosts summer programs in chemical engineering at the University of Arkansas for a wide range of K-12 students.
Dr. Clausen has 17 patents and over 600 technical publications and presentations to his credit. He is a member of AIChE, ACS and ASEE. He is a member of the Teaching Academy of the University of Arkansas, and has been recognized nationally for outstanding teaching and mentoring. Dr. Clausen is a registered professional engineer in the state of Arkansas.
