Daily cigarette smokers may be eligible to participate in a psychological research study.  This is not a treatment study; we will not be providing smoking cessation services as a part of this research.

If you are between the ages of 25 and 65 and you smoke, you may be eligible to participate in a study that examines smoking behavior in daily life.  As a participant in the study, you will be asked to complete questionnaires online, download an app to your IPhone or Android smart phone and answer questions for one week on that app as you go about your life.  You will also complete a half hour interview with research staff after the one week is over.  All procedures will take place online or through your phone; you will not do any study procedures face-to-face with our staff at this time (due to the COVID-19 pandemic and our desire to keep everyone safe.)  You will need reliable internet service to complete this study.

Your time is important to us, and you will be compensated up to $150 in gift cards for a one-week study; you will receive $20 for completing measures online and doing a training session on your phone, you will receive up to $120 for answering questions on your cell phone for one week, and $10 for completing a followup phone or video interview.  All payments will be made in the form of electronic gift cards to Amazon.com (or Walmart, if you prefer).

If interested, please contact the Laboratory for Emotion and Addictive Processes (now called the TEMPT lab) at 479-310-0522 and ask about the Smoking Motivation study.  You can also email LEAPuark@gmail.com for additional information, or just fill out the screening measure at this link, and we will contact you if you are eligible!
