Industry

Our broad focus covers innovative light emitting devices which have strong applications in biomedical imaging field and targeting renewable energy devices such as solar cells and thermoelectronic power generator.

Additionally, we are exploring innovative technologies to use extremely low power laser light to induce high frequency mechanic vibrations to inactive virus or stimulate neuron cells. On the basis of these technologies, we are currently developing the appropriate light source, embedded biomedical devices, and biomedical instruments. For the small objects such as virus, there are also a lot of fundamental physics problems to address. This is really an exciting area with tremendous opportunities!

The development of nano-scale devices requires endless search to modern fabrication techniques. Our fabricated single nanowire devices reveal very good process integration techniques.

The development of nano-scale devices places a grand challenge to modern device packaging. How to shrink down the package size to follow the shrinkage of device size?  How to keep the high performance and make the package cost effective… There are so many questions for the packaging researchers when the devices are getting smaller and smaller.  It is our mission to push the packaging technology moving forward with the pace of nano-device development.
