Michael Cummings is an assistant professor at the Department of Management at the University of Arkansas. In fall 2018, he will be teaching a service learning course MGMT 3933: Entrepreneurship and New Venture Development.
This course enables students to gain real-world experience identifying and addressing challenges faced by small businesses and nonprofits. Oftentimes, nonprofits and social enterprise organizations facing specific needs may not have the time or money to do an in-depth exploration of potential solutions. Through this course, students will help fill this gap by incorporating research and classroom concepts into real-life scenarios.
In class, Professor Cummings will also help give students key knowledge components and discuss the need for professionalism and ethics in community interactions.
