K-12 Outreach

Each summer since 2016, Dr. Nurre Pinkley and members of her research team lead an activity during GirlTREC. GirlTREC is a summer camp, hosted by MarTREC for 5th and 6th grade girls focused on hands-on activities related to transportation. We walk the girls through the activity of restoring the power and transportation networks of a fictitious town that were damaged after an extreme event. Materials prepared for the event can be downloaded and used for outreach and educational activities.
