Meth Waste Awareness Class

A common way of making meth these days involves little more than rigged soda bottles, which are all-too-often dumped on roadsides or in creek beds. The average volunteer (or leader for that matter) does not know how to recognize meth-related waste, and there is a slight but real possibility of dangerous reactions occurring if the items are picked up and disturbed. For this reason, we want the cleanup leaders in the community to be aware of these risks, and I’d like to invite you to a short class covering this subject.

Our Environmental Enforcement Officer, Mike Harp, will talk about the types of meth waste materials that you could come across during a cleanup, and what to do if that happens. He has lots of photos to share of items that have been found dumped in Washington County, and he can also answer any questions that you may have.
