Globe at Night
GAN is an initiative of Dr. Connie Walker, astronomer at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory in Arizona. GAN hosts campaigns to make quality of night sky measures every fall and spring. It is a simple citizen-scientist program where virtually anyone can contribute observations interactively.
Below is a page from Google Maps with Fayetteville observations from 2012 (You will need to zoom in on NWA):

In 2013, the Arkansas campaign was thwarted because of extensive cloud cover on every observing night. However, the University could revive and reinvigorate for fall 2013 and spring 2014 and each year thereafter if there is interest. Dr. Connie Walker would be thrilled to see the program get larger in Arkansas. This could be a good project for Natural Systems working group.
