Create-A-Hog
In an effort to continue moving the University of Arkansas towards becoming a sustainable-focused institution, the Student Alumni Association and the Office for Sustainability have teamed up to enhance the traditional Homecoming Create-A-Hog fundraiser competition. The guidelines and rules are now heavily influenced by the need to eliminate waste that is generated when student organizations create their hogs for the competition.
-
SAA & OFS have gathered recyclable and reclaimed materials from different departments on campus that are available to be used by teamed organizations in the creation of their hog for the competition.
-
A list of purchasable “green”/”sustainable” art materials has been compiled and should be referenced and taken into consideration when your team buys items to help create their hog.
-
50% of the hog should be made with reclaimed, recycled, and “green” materials.
-
In the description, include 2-3 sentences on how your team used sustainable methods in the creation of your hog. These sentences can include descriptions such as the materials you used, the minimal impact they have on the environment, and methods/creative strategies you used to be as sustainable as possible.
