Bayyari Elementary School is a low-income school with 94% of the students in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. The garden serves its purpose well by providing fresh, healthy food to families, by educating kids on where food comes from, and by building a strong community support network. We are going to to get the garden planted with Fall crops and need more volunteers! There will be students, parents, and teachers, but in order to build the community moral we need outside help because everyone knows that many hands makes light work. You can expect to get dirty and there might be opportunities to speak Spanish and play with kids. There will be some snacks, but feel free to bring some to share along with your water bottle and a hat. Hope to see you there!
