The University of Arkansas Office for Sustainability invites the campus community to visit Bcycle on April 30, 2015 from 11:30-1:30 between Old Main and the School of Architecture. Bycle will demo their bike share technologies with the campus community. Students, staff and faculty can ride a bike and learn more about the benefits of bicycling.
Bike-share programs offer all the benefits of bicycling without the burden of owning a bicycle. Consumers rent bikes when they need them while companies support all aspects of the bicycle upkeep, including repairs and maintenance, while providing convenience and a high-value for consumers. This allows for more people to substitute or supplement heavy carbon based transit with more sustainable modes of transportation.
The University of Arkansas is a signatory of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment and is dedicated to becoming a carbon neutral campus by 2040. The Office for Sustainability coordinates various projects, programs and outreach to achieve carbon neutrality goals.
