Before recording a Collaborate Session you should know a few things:

Note: Each time that you start or pause the recording you will get a pop-up window requiring confirmation.

Note: If you are recording a lecture, make sure your microphone is on.

Note: The recording will not be stopped until everyone quits the Collaborate application. If you are the moderator it is highly recommended that you make sure everyone else leaves the session before you do. After that the server will process the video (this could take 30 mins to an hour), and depending on how your session was created, you will receive a link:

  • If Created through Blackboard – a link will automatically be posted on the Collaborate tool page in your Blackboard course.
  • If Created outside of Blackboard – you will receive an email from the server with a link to your recording. To learn more about using Collaborate outside of Blackboard Learn, see the Blackboard Collaborate On-Demand Learning Center.
