Test availability can be used to set specific permissions to individual or groups of students. Some features include: test dates, time limits and the option of selecting individual or groups of students that can see the test or quiz.

In Blackboard, test availability can be changed to provide a student (or group of students) a make-up exam date.

To do this, you will use the Test Availability Exceptions feature:

  1. Navigate to the test where it is deployed in your course
  2. From the menu, selectEdit the Test Options
  3. Under “Test Availability Exceptions”, select the “Add User or Group” button and follow prompts to add the student (or group) for whom the make-up date applies.

  4. Under Attempts, leave the drop down set to “Single Attempt” to give each student one attempt on the test
  5. Under Timer, edit the timer to the correct time the student should have to complete the test (Please check “auto submit” so the exam will submit when the time expires).
  6. Under Availability, enter the new date range for the test to be open.
  7. Select the Submit button to save your changes.
