Test availability can be used to set specific permissions to individual or groups of students. Some features include: test dates, time limits and the option of selecting individual or groups of students that can see the test or quiz.
In Blackboard, test availability can be changed to provide a student (or group of students) a make-up exam date.
To do this, you will use the Test Availability Exceptions feature:
- Navigate to the test where it is deployed in your course
- From the menu, select “Edit the Test Options”
- Under “Test Availability Exceptions”, select the “Add User or Group” button and follow prompts to add the student (or group) for whom the make-up date applies.
- Under Attempts, leave the drop down set to “Single Attempt” to give each student one attempt on the test
- Under Timer, edit the timer to the correct time the student should have to complete the test (Please check “auto submit” so the exam will submit when the time expires).
- Under Availability, enter the new date range for the test to be open.
- Select the Submit button to save your changes.
