After the general plan for the course is developed, it is time to start designing full lessons. Each lesson will introduce the content, outline the objectives, provide instructional material and activities, and contain the lesson assessments.

Every Blackboard course has a Content Collection where course materials such as documents, video files, audio files or images can be saved in folders and organized for use in the course.

When you begin designing a course, it is a good idea to first establish your course goals. If you start with the end in mind, you will have a clear path to follow!
The University of Arkansas has adopted the Quality Matters rubric as a resource to help our online courses meet national standards and best practices. The rubric focuses on the form and function of the course while allowing a lot of flexibility and leaves the content up to the instructor.
