Arkansas Traveler Award

I am from Panama, a country in Central America. One of the perks that the University of Arkansas offers me as an international student is to engage with other international students and share my culture with them and with the NWA area. I am part of the International Cultural Team, a group of international students, scholars, spouses, and Americans who love to share their cultural values and traditions. In 2020, I received the Arkansas Traveler from the State of Arkansas through the International Cultural Team due to my volunteering work in the university. I also keep 40 drawings from a kindergarten class I taught and the Thinking Day patch from the Scout Girls of NWA. It is nice to know as an international student that the NWA area and the university campus has a welcoming community that encourages you to embrace your culture while submerging you in Arkansas culture.
