Cyrus Sutherland asked me to design this fold-up version of Old Main for the rededication of Old Main in 1991. I had drawn a more cartoonish version of it for a magazine that two friends and I published in the mid-1980s, and Cy had held onto that early version and actually cut it out to make sure it worked. Since I had no architectural background, he was a little skeptical whether I was capable of doing this more elaborate and detailed version, but he was pleased with how it turned out. U of A Printing Services did the printing. The North Tower stands just shy of 4″ tall.
