My name is Elliott Wenzler (I am in fact a female with a typically male name) and I’ve made my way to the U of A all the way from Nashville, Tennessee. I’m a senior editorial journalism major with minors in both business and Spanish. I was originally a business student but switched when I realized I wasn’t enjoying it enough to designate it as my career path. I’m very happy to be in a class that combines two of my areas of interest. I spent last summer in Chicago producing podcasts and helping with public relations at a comedy club there called Laugh Factory. I also wrote an article about my experiences there that should be published somewhere and sometime that I’m not entirely sure of. My other journalism experience consists of writing for the features section of the Traveler and my current project of attempting to create my own podcast. I also have some previous experience with WordPress, as I wrote a blog about my time abroad in the summer of 2015. During off time I like to goof around with friends, rock climb, read, and, of course, watch Netflix. I’m currently reading books that were never assigned to me in high school but should have been, such as 1984, The Catcher in the Rye, The Book Thief, etc. I guess Catholic schools are mainly concerned with that one book that I can’t seem to remember the name of… For my commutes I have music and podcasts, which are both mediums I draw much pleasure from. I’ve written stories about a variety of things the most interesting of which was about the refugees that will be moving to NWA this year. I also wrote an enterprise story that I’m proud of about the increasing homeless population in the area.
