Lu Zhang

Assistant Professor

Lu Zhang is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Computer Engineering Department at University of Arkansas. He received the BEng degree in computer science and engineering from University of Science and Technology of China, in 2008, and the PhD degree in computer science from Nanyang Technological University in 2013. His research interests lie in the field of data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and distributed computing, particularly in discrimination/fairness-aware learning, causal modeling and inference, and data mining and privacy for genetic data. His publications appear in top conferences including SIGKDD, IJCAI, BIBM, INFOCOM, ICDCS, PODC, and premier journals including TCBB, TON, TPDS, JDSA. He has served as the PC member for a number of international conferences including CIKM’17/18, PAKDD’18, SIGKDD’18, and AAAI’19.
