Cloud hosting with CampusPress

An exciting new upgrade is coming for WordPress users at the University of Arkansas. On Saturday, September 30, personal WordPress sites will be migrated from on-campus hosting to cloud hosting with CampusPress, a national leader in higher education web hosting. CampusPress hosts WordPress services for Baylor University, Stanford, Cornell, and UMass, just to name a few.

Benefits Include:

  • Faster and easier login process with UARK single sign-on
  • New plugins to expand site features
  • Enhanced security, including continuous monitoring of sites, plugins, and servers
  • Expanded ADA accessibility

WordPress sites will receive a new URL, changing from ‘you.uark.edu’ to ‘wordpressua.uark.edu/sites.’  The old URLs will be forwarded for one year to allow for search engines and links to be updated.

Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, September 30, you will not be able to make updates to your site, and starting at 10 p.m., all UARK WordPress sites will be offline while we perform the migration.

WordPress sites will be online again starting at 4 a.m. Sunday, October 1, but you will not be able to make updates until noon.

Questions? Join us in the Holcombe Hall Living Room from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, September 28. We’ll share the latest on new features as well as Q&A on WordPress at the University of Arkansas.
