May was Bike Month, and it looks like someone forgot to tell the Entomology department it’s over!A woman bikes down the Greenway near a lake.

Ph.D. candidate Rinalda Proko reached out to the Office for Sustainability to let us know that she was inspired by the UA Bike Month Challenge so much that she decided to organize a mini challenge with some of the students and faculty staff in the Entomology and Plant Pathology department. The challenge attracted many participants that “love to bike as we all consider biking a way of combining fun, fitness, and promoting sustainable choices,” Rinalda said.

There was a one dollar buy-in to participate in the challenge; the pooled money will be used to buy drinks for the winners. Prizes will be awarded to two winners: the one who bikes the most miles and the one who bikes the highest elevation. The group plans to celebrate at the end of the challenge.
