I found it interesting and helpful that in How to Avoid 10 Common Mistakes in Data Reporting they talked about running spreadsheets through an internet-based open-source tool. It’s important to triple check your data to make an accurate story. I also like that they mentioned taking a 10 minute break every hour. I personally can get overwhelmed with numbers and charts so it makes me feel better that I’m not the only one who needs breaks!
I thought it was interesting that both articles talked about data dictionaries. It’s a good reminder that not all of the data you receive will have obvious meanings and how “missing data is indicated”.
