1. Much of the UCR data is available by CDs or discs, or even special programs. Files in which one actually has to have in order to download. My question is, where and how can we get access to these physical files? What are the steps in which the public can obtain the CD and/or disc information? Is it really that easy to get ahold of these files? I am aware that there is contact information, but what are, if any, the circumstances in which we are allowed to access the files?
  2. In what ways can we as young journalists make the best use this information, other than reporting crime statistics? Can this information be used to support other types of stories? If so, what kind of stories? This type of journalism is very new to me, so I am curious as to all of the possibilities in which we can make the best use of such data.
