HL: Fayetteville VA hospital bests national average in wait times
By Alex Nicoll
Veterans should have an easier time scheduling appointments under 30 days with the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozark’s hospital in Fayetteville compared to the national average, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The VA department reported that of the 9.3 million veterans who have appointments scheduled as of Oct. 1, 2017, 91.9 percent of them have been scheduled within 30 days of their requested date. This percentage is lower than the Fayetteville VA’s reported percentage of 97.7 in 2017.
The difference of around six percentage points between the national average and the Fayetteville VA means veterans have a better chance of being scheduled for a primary care appointment within 30 days of their requested date in Fayetteville rather than the average VA hospital.
