Here are my responses for the Aug. 23 blog questions:
1. How long did it take Mr. Dedman to compile this information – what sparked his interest in bringing this research to life? Does some of this data correlate with today’s numbers?
2. I’m Julia Trupp, and I’m a senior news-editorial major in the journalism department. Since coming to the UofA from Frisco, Texas, I’ve been working for the Traveler. I started as a features staff reporter. My sophomore year I was the features editor, last year I was the managing editor, and this year I decided to take a step back and am now the features copy editor.
I also interned with D Magazine this past summer and had a blast. In my free time (when I have it) I enjoy trying new coffee shops, collecting vinyl, and doing improv (I’m on two troupes here in Fayetteville).
The best story I’ve produced was a story about mental health awareness on campus last year – lots of research and very personal stories went into it. My favorite story I’ve written was probably an article about a woman named Sara Slimp, who started and owns Chunky Dunk, a local milk and cookies truck.
Welcome and thanks for the background about your work.
