Build a crime chart.

1) Import data into Tableau
2) New Worksheet
3) Counties to rows.
4) Violent crime to columns. Check that measure is SUM
5) Add violent crime to colors. Reverse colors
6) Add violent crime to details
7) Labels. Formatting.

8) Export a PDF version of your chart
9) Post your PDF on WordPress
10) Engage in excessive self-congratulatory behavior.
 
Power Users:
Once you have done that, do this again with a property crime rate.
1) Go to Excel, Calculate a Property Crime Rate Per 100,000
2) Import data back into Tableau
3) Create chart with counties in rows and property crime in columns
4) Format chart, Export PDF, Post to WordPress
 
Tableau Ninjas:
Once you have done that, chart a stacked bar chart with violent and property crime.
Format chart, Export PDF, Post to WordPress
 Super Ninjas:
Examine Student Loan Data: Tuition costs at Arkansas colleges and universities. Chart Debt by Graduates and Dropouts

  • Already have a copy of Tableau Desktop installed? Update your license in the application: Help menu -> Manage Product Keys
