trupptableauchart0928Here we have a chart that depicts the 2015 incomes of each race (including the Hispanic ethnicity). Compared to the excel sheet and chart from last class, which shows the denial rates for each race, we can see that there is somewhat of an inverse relationship between the incomes and the denial rate. For example, the Asian population applying for home mortgage loans in 2015 are being denied at a much smaller rate than the Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders and American Indian/Native Alaskans. These two races — the smallest incomes of the six listed — are denied home mortgage loans the most, or at the highest rate.
Going forward in our studies and analysis of this data, we can conclude that talking with the Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander applicants will be the top priority in terms of reporting and capturing the human element behind these numbers.
