What is the Artificial Extracellular Matrix (aECM) Thrust?

The aECM thrust aims to create novel bio-inspired aECM (artificial extra cellular matrix) surfaces with tunable and photoswitchable components that permit making adjustments to the aECMs using external stimuli. These surfaces can then be used to explore the factors and pathways important for in vivo neuronal development as well as increase the usefulness of in vitro neuron cell culture.
